Business Valuations

Business Valuations try to estimate the true value of a business or part thereof. While this is usually pretty straightforward where assets are all tangible and have a market value, valuations become very complex when intangibles or tangible speculative assets are present, which happens in the great majority of cases. Business Valuations usually serve one of two main purposes. They are either used transactionally in mergers, acquisitions or share transfers, or for the establishment or quantification of legal liability and damages.
Our Business Valuations are essentially high-quality, economically-robust valuations of companies and individual assets that recognise the need to satisfy corporate, transparency, regulatory, legal and accounting requirements. They make use of explainable models, are backed by statistical estimation where possible, and provide point and interval estimates for each asset class involved in the valuation process.
Our Business Valuations are based on the principles of fairness, reasonableness, and a deep understanding of the dynamics of the industry in which our clients operate. We use a variety of methods to determine value including discounted cash flow analysis, market multiples analysis, comparative company analysis and asset–based valuations. We also consider a range of factors that can affect value including customer and supplier relationships, competitive advantages, intangible assets and intellectual property. We strive to be as comprehensive as possible in our valuation approach to ensure the most accurate result.
